Some She-Ra sketches from Toons on Tap this week at the Rhino. Thanks to the Dakota bitch for being such a wonderful model! Graphite, conte, and some digital touching up.
so this was cool, a friend contacted me about drawing a pose for a dungeons and dragons (pathfinder) figurine. The original design of this character was by Michelle Moger. The character was then digitally modelled and 3d printed and painted. drawn in pencil and marker.
If you haven't been listening already check out The Thrilling Adventure Hour by Nerdist. It's a terrific podcast in the style of oldtime radio. These are some sketches based on "Sparks Nevada! Marshal on Mars!" which I've added some colour via photoshop.
Some more life drawing. Mostly from "suspended life drawing" at the drawing room in Toronto. Conte and soft pastel. More paintings and animations coming soon I swear...
We were set with the task of coming up with an image for a coworker's birthday cake. It was really a mix between her undying love of skeletor and our recent discovery of the 50's pinup artist Art Frahm, who's entire schtick was women who's panties had suddenly fallen around their ankles (see link above)
just for practice, this clip was taken from the audio book "Iron druid- hounded"
Maya, did the animation lighting and bg. character was modelled and rigged by Jana Johnson.
It's been a while since I've done one of these, so here's some sketches from the last month. Animal sketches are from high park zoo and a fair that showed up near my house. People sketches are from various go train/subway rides.
Recently I downloaded the entire discography of Hans Zimmer. Included on it was this clip from the movie "Insignificance." There was so much good stuff here I couldn't resist trying to capture it.
An old friend contacted me about doing this for her wedding. Instead of signing a guestbook guests will sign paper leaves which will be glued onto the painting, and then podged.
